Taikai Rules and Regulations

The AUSKF 2010 Iaido Camp Taikai will follow the rules and regulations set forth in the AJKF (All Japan Kendo Federation) Iaido Shiai and Shimpan Regulations handbook.

All competitors will be required to sign in on the day of the taikai, Saturday, June 12, 2010, between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Late sign-ins will not be accepted and will be dropped from their respective division.

All decisions of the referees and judges are final.
 

AUSKF 2010 Iaido Camp Taikai Divisions and Information

Mudansha Division
Eligible ranks: 2 kyu and below.
Each contestant performs five pre-selected kata from Zen Ken Ren iaidô kata.

Murosako Cup
Eligible ranks: 1 kyu and 1 dan.
Each contestant performs five pre-selected kata from Zen Ken Ren iaidô kata.

Yamaguchi Cup
Eligible ranks: 2 dan and 3 dan.
Each contestant performs five pre-selected kata from Zen Ken Ren iaidô kata.

Nakanishi Cup
Eligible ranks: 4 dan and above.
Each contestant performs two kata from their individual koryu / ryu-ha followed by three pre-selected kata from Zen Ken Ren iaidô kata.

Goodwill Division
Open to all iaido practitioners possessing any kyu or dan rank who are not affiliated with the AUSKF.
Each competitor must be a member of an FIK (International Kendo Federation) affiliated organization and must have the ability to perform all Zen Ken Ren iaido kata. Each contestant performs five pre-selected kata from Zen Ken Ren iaidô kata.

Rank and kata requirements for all divisions, except the Goodwill Division, may be modified depending on the number of competitors within each division.

The Goodwill Division will be cancelled if there is an insufficient amount of competitors.

Taikai pairings will be determined between May 30 and June 9, 2010 and will be posted on the taikai date.

Any changes will be communicated to all participants prior to the taikai date.
